Monthly Community Update from Sgt Elena Macmillan – May 2026 |
||
|
Good afternoon, I Hope this message finds you well. As we move into summer and start the month of June, I would like to share a summary of what the Wolverhampton City Centre Team have been up to over the last month.
🔍 Local Priorities Our current focus areas include: We are conducting continued patrols and targeted operations, such as targeted crime patrols, open-area knife searches and Op Servator, which aims to offer a reassuring presence and encounter possible offenders. The City Centre Team made 36 arrests last month, for various offences, including theft from store, assault and possession of offensive weapons. Officers also took part in Op Sceptre - a national week of action aimed at reducing knife crime and serious youth violence. We welcome any feedback or concerns you’d like to raise.
🤝 Partnership Working Officers continue to work with local partners to make the city a safety place, including: Local council to address anti-social behaviour Local Charities to assist in tackling anti-social behaviour Educational Institutions Licensed premises and venues during Night Time Economy
🧑🤝🧑 Community Involvement PCSO's have been busy conducting engagement activities with the community, including attending Cuppa with a Copper events across the City Centre. Thankyou to the relevant businesses for working with us and offering up their own crime prevention tips and advice to those using their services.
Seasonal Crime Prevention Advice Remember: Lock all doors and windows, even if you're only stepping out for a short time. Keep valuables - such as laptops, handbags, and cash - out of sight from windows and entryways. Check that all locks are functioning properly and meet recommended security standards. Use outdoor security lighting and install timers on indoor lights to give the impression that someone is home. Secure garages, sheds and other outbuildings by keeping them locked and well-maintained.
